Here comes a Winter Wonderland!

It's now December! Here comes the snow, the joy, the laughter, the warm clothes, and family time! Also with December comes lot's of birthdays, hot coco, and for me, lot's of request's for my clay creations! I started creating figures for my grandma's birthday. I made her a little nativity. I have been made many different nativities since then and I have started to make some ornaments! I have made ornaments that aren't really the true reason of the season. I have made elves, Santas, and I have even made a Mrs. Clause!

After I was in a boutique in October I got two orders for some elf ornaments. They asked for both boys and girls. I have never made boy elves before so this was a new experience! I had a very fun time with it and I loved it! Here is an image of the four elves I made. I really liked how it turned out!

The first time I ever used clay was at my friend Sophie's house. She had some of the no-bake clay and we spent many times playing with different creations over at her house.

Later we were thinking about a Birthday present for my grandma and my mom asked me to make my grandma a nativity because she loves them! I accepted the challenge and I produced a pretty cool thing and discovered a new talent! I really enjoy creating clay creations and I love it when my artwork makes someone smile! I am going to post a few more pictures of some of my other clay creations but not all of them. if you would like to see more go and look at my Art Gallery. I just started posting pictures so there isn't too many artworks up yet but there will be more soon!

A Short Time Ago In A Galaxy Not So Far Away...

I wanted to be a clone trooper for Halloween. I came up with this idea with a few of my friends while we were at a trek reunion. We were talking and somehow we got on the topic of Halloween and Star Wars. We planed everything out and I was going to be a clone trooper. There was just one problem. A 'real' clone trooper outfit is super expensive and I sadly do not have that much money.  So I looked around and we decided to just wear a real helmet and a white suit or something close to that. But my family brought to my attention that white suits are hard to find (just like a 'real' clone trooper outfit.) so my mom-being the amazing woman that she is-started to help me make a real enough clone trooper outfit.

We went to Michaels and got some white foam for the armor. We then went to Wal Mart to get black long johns, a white belt, and a clone trooper mask. And started to make my costume!
Supplies you will need
The supplies that you will need for this costume:
  • 1 Clone Trooper Mask (Wal Mart should have it if not, look online)
  • 1 Pair of Black Gloves (Wal Mart)
  • 1 White Belt (Also at Wal Mart if you want cheap)
  • 1 Pair of White Shoes (Can pretty much find these any where)
  • About 8 or 9 sheets of white foam-depending on your hight(got these at Michaels)
  • And a Nerf Star Wars Clone Trooper Gun to top it off.
You will also need someone to help you with this! My mom helped me out and it looked great! We placed the foam on my arms, legs, back, knees, etc. and traced out the shapes we needed(It helped to have an image of a clone trooper up on your computer or a clone trooper toy is very helpful!). To attach the white foam you can use super glue, or in my case I wanted to use my long johns for later so I used elastic and ribbons(so that the foam could come off).

With my costume I was super busy and didn't put much time in it but my mom helped a lot but we did it as a last minute costume so the foam kept ripping. It was really sad but, I did get a pretty cool costume (thanks mom!) it just didn't have all of the armor. Here is a picture of me in it with my little brother (he's a Jawa). I hope you all had a great Halloween!
